AIDS is not a disease transmitted through direct contact. The three main ways of transmission of AIDS include the following: 1) blood transmission, 2) sexual transmission, and 3) transmission of the virus by a syringe injected by a drug user. Kissing is only direct contact and does not lead to the spread of AIDS. For people who have repeated blood transfusions and have HIV in their blood, it is possible to contract AIDS. However, most people with AIDS contract the disease mainly through sexual transmission, and some are homosexuals or drug users who contract AIDS by sharing syringes.
