Is it accurate to measure blood pressure sitting or lying down on the bed?

Blood pressure measurements are more accurate when taken sitting down or lying down on the bed. All that is needed is for the sphygmomanometer to be placed at the same level as the heart, and the results will be accurate. Most patients are able to sit and measure their blood pressure, while some who are not able to sit can lie down on the bed to measure their blood pressure, and both measurements are more accurate. The key to measuring blood pressure is to place the sphygmomanometer at the same level as the heart. Under normal circumstances, the systolic blood pressure of adults in a quiet state is 90~139mmHg, diastolic blood pressure is 60~89mmHg, systolic blood pressure is greater than 140mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure is greater than 90mmHg for high blood pressure. In case of elevated blood pressure, you should pay attention to monitoring your blood pressure, and if your blood pressure is elevated in three measurements not on the same day, you should consult a doctor in a timely manner and take treatment according to the doctor’s instructions.
