What do liver nodules mean?

Liver nodules are generally referred to as hepatic nodules, which are caused by various etiologies that result in proliferation of fibrous tissue in the liver, along with disturbances in the arrangement of hepatic trabeculae. If one or more hyperplastic nodules appear in the liver, the condition is classified as hepatic nodules, which are categorized into benign and malignant nodules, and further examination, such as ultrasonography, MRI, and pathology examination, can be performed to determine the nature of the nodules. If the nodules are benign and asymptomatic, they can be followed up regularly; if they are malignant, they need further surgical treatment.
