Guanyuan point is taken in the anterior midline, 3 inches below the umbilicus. Guanyuan point is an acupoint on the Ren vein and is the recruitment point for the small intestine. It is located in the lower abdomen, on the anterior midline, 3 inches below the umbilicus. This point requires emptying the bladder first when needling and is most commonly used with moxibustion. This point can treat diseases such as fatigue and tiredness due to deficiency of vital energy, stroke and dislocation; gynecological diseases such as irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea and dyspareunia; hernia and abdominal pain; diarrhea, prolapse and dysentery; male diseases such as impotence, premature ejaculation and spermatorrhea; and diseases such as frequent urination and blood in the urine. This point is also an important point for health care. This point can be used with Qihai and Shenque to treat prolapse; with Sanyinjiao and Blood Sea to treat menstrual disorders; with Chibian and Shui Dao to treat frequent urination; and with Tianshu and Ashansanli to treat diarrhea.
