There are many proprietary Chinese medicines for treating phlegm nuclei (lumps swollen up like nuclei under the skin), the common ones are Internal Scrofula Pills, Qianjin Huayu Pills, and so on. The use of specific medication should be in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
1. Internal elimination of scrofula pill consists of Xia Gu Cao, Zhe Bei Mu, Mentha piperita, smallpox pollen, clamshell, Xuan Shen, Da Qing Salt, seaweed, Ampelopsis, Di Huang, Platycodonopsis, Forsythia, rhubarb, licorice, Citrus aurantium, Angelica sinensis, and Xuan Ming Powder. It has the efficacy of softening and dispersing (softening and dispersing hard lumps), and can be used to treat scrofula (mainly refers to cervical lymph node tuberculosis) with phlegm nuclei or swelling or pain.
The adverse effects of the drug are not clear, but should be noted that pregnant women should not be used, and should be used with caution in cases of loose stools.
2. Qian Jin Hua Phlegm Pill is composed of Citrus aurantium, Atractylodes macrocephala, Licorice, Gallus gallus, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Semen Armeniacae, Poria, Poria cocos, Porphyra, Porphyrae, Porphyrae, Zhi Materia, Smallpox Pollen, Scutellariae Radix, Anti-fungus, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Tian Ma, and Radix et Rhizoma Rhei. It has the efficacy of clearing phlegm-heat and moving qi, and can be used to treat phlegm-heat internal stagnation caused by phlegm-nucleus effusion (multiple abscesses originating from deep muscles), constipation and other conditions.
The adverse effects of the drug are not clear, note that pregnant women should not take, weak constitution, spleen and stomach cold (spleen and stomach weakness and cold) should be used with caution.
