Astigmatism can be corrected with glasses and surgery. Astigmatism is a common refractive error, physiologic conditions that result from differences in refraction of the eye at different meridians. Most normal eyes have varying degrees of astigmatism.
Corneal astigmatism is common in cataract patients. It can be detected by manual keratometer, computerized optometry, and other devices, and can be corrected by surgery and glasses.
Simple or compound myopic astigmatism, simple or compound hyperopic astigmatism, etc. can be corrected by pillar lenses; those who cannot be corrected by pillar lenses can be corrected by rigid corneal contact lenses; for cataract combined with astigmatism, it can be corrected together by corneal relaxation, femtosecond laser-assisted corneal arcotomy and other surgeries.
If astigmatism is suspected, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s advice for correction.
