Many patients have other medical conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, etc.) that are comorbid prior to surgery and are taking certain medications. Often, when the anesthesiologist visits the patient before surgery, he or she finds that the patient is taking certain medications and the surgery has to be postponed. Many patients do not understand or even fear to postpone the surgery and deliberately conceal the medication they are taking, thinking that they have “escaped” by chance, unaware that this surgical anesthesia safety leaves a huge hidden danger, which may cause serious consequences and even pay the price of life.
