What’s with the hard scabs on the scalp?

Hard crust on the scalp may be physiological factors such as bad eating habits, do not pay attention to scalp cleaning, but also may be pathological reasons such as seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, ringworm and other skin diseases.
1. Physiological factors: love to eat spicy, stimulating, greasy food, alcohol and other bad dietary habits, as well as do not pay attention to scalp cleaning, and other factors can cause the head sebaceous gland secretion, oil, itching and other discomforts, after scratching the scalp breaks to form a hard crust.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) seborrheic dermatitis: there is chronic inflammation of the scalp, inflammatory factors will stimulate the sebaceous glands to increase secretion and manifested as more oil, accompanied by greasy, flaky, itchy and other symptoms, after scratching the scalp to form hard scabs.
(2) Psoriasis: the cause of the disease is more complex, if it occurs in the scalp area, there may be red papules or maculopapular rash, covered with thick layer of silvery-white scales, accompanied by itching, scabs and other conditions.
(3) Tinea capitis: a superficial fungal infection, infectious, can also lead to more oil on the scalp, itching, flaking, crusting symptoms.
