Coughing rib fracture

The fracture of ribs due to violent coughing can be seen clinically, but this phenomenon occurs not only due to violent coughing, but also due to problems with the bone itself. Some patients have bone tumors that occur behind the rib cage, and a violent cough can lead to fractures. Some patients have fractured ribs, but they do not realize that this phenomenon is aggravated by strenuous activities, and the fractured ribs can be found in the hospital X-ray. The fracture of the ribs can in turn stimulate coughing. The fracture of the ribs can cause periosteal irritation of the rib cage in the chest, causing the pleura to react with irritation and leading to violent coughing, which is a normal reaction.
