Etiology, diagnosis and treatment of chronic proctitis

  If acute proctitis is not healed for a long time, it becomes chronic proctitis. The rectal mucosa and its lower layer hypertrophy, chronic hypertrophic proctitis; such as rectal intestinal glands and their interstitial atrophy changes, known as chronic atrophic proctitis.   Chronic hypertrophic proctitis has a thick rectal mucosa and its lower layer, or granular protrusions, surface swelling, exudate, mucous or purulent, sometimes forming ulcers. In the rectum of chronic atrophic proctitis, there are atrophic changes in the intestinal glands and their interstitium, the mucosa becomes thinner and drier, rough and inelastic, easily fissured, often with small pieces of tissue necrosis, reduced cup cells, and fibrous tissue hyperplasia in the submucosa.  Symptoms The main symptoms of the disease are frequent diarrhea, or even complete grain does not change, or alternating diarrhea and constipation, stool containing mucus or blood, sometimes feel pain and swelling in the lower abdomen or sacrococcygeal area and anal itching, poor appetite, abdominal flatulence, body wasting, weight loss, or even cold extremities, chronic appearance of the disease.  The patient mostly has a history of acute colitis. During finger examination, the rectal mucosa can be felt to have reduced elasticity, granular protrusion, or scar stenosis. On proctoscopic examination, the rectal mucosa can be seen to be edematous, hypertrophic, with an unsmooth surface, erosion, ulceration, mucus-pus-blood-like material or corrosive secretions, or atrophy and roughness of the rectal mucosa.  Fourth, treatment (a) internal treatment method: Chinese medicine treatment, refer to the first section of the identification and treatment prescription. According to the needs of the disease, you can also use the compound Xinomin, willow sulfadiazine pyridine, etc.  (B) external treatment: rectal mucosal edema, saline, 0.5-1% ellagic acid, 1:8,000 potassium permanganate solution irrigation rectum. For mucosal erosion, you can apply 1% cortisone acetate solution or 10% silver nitrate solution. For sphincter and anal raphe spasm, warm olive oil can be injected into the rectum. If the rectal mucosa is atrophied and dry, inject 0.5% peppermint oil into the rectum every night. Clinically, 50-100 ml each of honey and sesame oil and 50-100 ml of Huanglian mold liquid, alternating with the retention of enemas every other day, 2 times a day, has good curative effect.  (C) systemic therapy: patients rest properly, into light, less residue, nutritious, non-irritating food, and to achieve a happy mood, combined with work and rest.
