What is body fat percentage

Body fat percentage refers to the total amount of body fat as a proportion of body weight, which can be used as an indicator to reflect whether a person is overweight and obese.

The formula for calculating body fat percentage in adult women is parameter a=waist circumference (cm) x 0.74, parameter b=body weight (kg) x 0.082+34.89. body fat weight kg=a-b, body fat percentage=total body fat divided by body weight x 100%.

The formula for calculating normal male body fat percentage is parameter a = waist circumference cm x 0.74, parameter b = body weight kg x 0.082 + 44.74. body fat weight kg = a – b, body fat percentage total body fat divided by body weight x 100%.

Normal female body fat rate 20%-25%, normal male body fat rate 15%-18%. If the body fat percentage is too high and the weight exceeds more than 20% of the normal value, it can be considered as obese.
