What’s GI mucositis?

Digestive mucositis refers to the inflammation of oral mucosa and gastrointestinal mucosa, which is mainly caused by anti-tumor therapy, infection, immunity and other reasons. Inflammation of the oral mucosa is mainly caused by infection or head and neck tumors when patients undergo radiation therapy, multiple courses of chemotherapy, or the use of drugs such as methotrexate, which can be prevented by oral cleansing and the use of soft toothbrushes. Inflammation of the gastrointestinal mucosa can be caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, tuberculosis infection, inflammatory bowel disease, or irregular diet, and can be treated or prevented by regular diet and, if necessary, anti-infective and anti-inflammatory treatment. If you suffer from inflammation of the digestive mucosa, you should seek medical treatment promptly.
