Ketamine, a derivative of phenylcyclohexylpiperidine. It is generally used as an anesthetic in medical clinics and is classified as a Class I psychotropic substance under control.
Ketamine is clinically used for general diagnostic examination or minor surgery without muscle relaxation, commonly used in inhalation induction of general anesthesia, but also as nitrous oxide or local anesthesia as an adjunct, or with other general or local anesthetics used in combination.
The common adverse reaction of this product is that some patients have mental abnormalities. Especially in the recovery period, presenting nightmares, illusions, hallucinations, sometimes accompanied by delirium, jumping phenomenon.
The contraindications and precautions of this product are as follows.
1. It is contraindicated in patients with hypertension, history of cerebrovascular accident, increased intracranial pressure, intracranial space-occupying lesions. Use with caution in patients with glaucoma, psychosis, hyperthyroidism, acute alcoholism or chronic addiction.
2. For patients with cardiac dysfunction and hypovolemia, it can cause severe circulatory depression.
3. Fasting is required before surgery, and drinking alcohol or taking central nervous system depressants is prohibited within 24h after administration.
Ketamine intravenous general anesthesia induction, such as the use of too much, too fast, or misuse of narcotic analgesics, can inhibit respiration, or even make respiratory arrest. The use of precautions and drug dosage should be emphasized. The drug should be used in strict compliance with medical advice.
