Aminophylline Effects and Side Effects

Aminophylline is a bronchodilator, commonly used in the form of injection and tablets, which has the effect of dilating bronchial tubes; its side effects mainly include gastrointestinal reactions, neurological reactions, cardiovascular system reactions and so on.
1. The effect of aminophylline: aminophylline is a smooth muscle relaxant, can dilate the bronchial tubes, commonly used in bronchial asthma, wheezing bronchitis, obstructive pulmonary emphysema to relieve the symptoms of wheezing, but also can be used for cardiogenic pulmonary edema caused by asthma.
2.Common adverse reactions (including side effects).
(1) Gastrointestinal reactions: common nausea, gastric distension, stomach pain, vomiting, loss of appetite.
(2) Nervous system: cause dizziness, headache, anxiety, excitement, insomnia, blurred vision, etc.
(3) Cardiovascular system: often cause palpitations, arrhythmia and other manifestations.
It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the product, and for patients with active ulcers and convulsive diseases.
Aminophylline is a prescription drug, it should be used reasonably with prescription after physician’s consultation to reduce the adverse effects.
