Amaranth boiled water is not recommended for long-term consumption. Amaranth is a cold Chinese medicine, long-term eating is easy to damage the spleen and stomach, may lead to diarrhea, gastrointestinal discomfort and other adverse effects; so amaranth boiled water can not be eaten for a long time. Amaranth is sour in taste, cold in nature, and belongs to the liver and large intestine meridian; it is the dried above-ground part of the Amaranthus plant; it has the efficacy of clearing away heat and detoxification (clearing away heat and poisonous evils in the body), cooling the blood and stopping hemorrhage (cooling and moistening the blood and preventing hemorrhage), and stopping dysentery. Amaranthus can be used for fever and blood dysentery (dysentery caused by feeling heat, see blood in the stool), carbuncle furuncle (mostly occurring in the limbs or facial sores, the shape of a small root deep, as hard as nails), eczema, dengteng (acute infectious diseases, visible skin red like paint), snake bites, blood in the stool, hemorrhoids, leakage of menstruation (menstruation is too much or more than a few drops) under the blood.
