Pulmonary baldness, a common and frequent disease in hair-specific clinics, accounts for 7.32% of the total number of patients with baldness. Therefore, the patient loses hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, axillary hair, pubic hair and all over the body.
The etiology and pathogenesis of baldness are not fully understood, but it is generally believed to be an autoimmune disease with genetic qualities and environmental stimulating factors. Most patients have a history of trauma and mental irritation before the onset of the disease, with no conscious symptoms. It starts as one or several neatly edged circular or oval, irregular shaped hair loss areas with normal local scalp or mild depression. In the active phase, the hairs at the edge of the balding area are loose and can be easily pulled out. Nail changes can occur simultaneously with baldness.
