The etiology is unknown. There is a lymphocytic infiltration around the hair follicles and the disease is sometimes combined with other autoimmune diseases (e.g. vitiligo, atopic dermatitis), so it is now thought that there may be an autoimmune pathogenesis to the development of the disease. Genetic qualities are also an important factor and may be associated with HLA type II, with a family history in 25% of cases. In addition, it may be associated with neurotrauma, psychiatric abnormalities, infectious lesions and endocrine disorders.
The occurrence of baldness is strongly related to excessive mental stress. Many cases are preceded by neuropsychological trauma such as chronic anxiety, worry, sadness, mental tension and emotional disturbance. Sometimes these mental factors can cause the patient’s condition to worsen rapidly during the course of the disease.
The causes of baldness are: 1, mental factors: Because some patients often have mental factors such as tension, panic, depression, and exertion before the appearance of baldness and the aggravation of baldness.
2. Genetic allergic factors: Such causes of baldness are also called ectopic 3. Autoimmune factors: Patients are often accompanied by one or several autoimmune diseases, and their incidence is also significantly higher than that of the general population.
4, Genetic factors: About 10%-20% of patients have a family history; and the incidence of baldness is increased in genetic diseases such as Down syndrome.
