Also known as folliculitis, perineal folliculitis is usually associated with high sebum production, poor personal hygiene and poor diet. Patients can keep the local air permeability, and follow the doctor’s instructions oral medication, topical medication and surgical drainage methods for treatment.
1. Keep the local ventilation: patients with folliculitis can wear loose and breathable underwear, and avoid scratching or squeezing.
2. Topical medication: patients can disinfect the pubic area with iodine povidone every day, and then use topical medication such as fusidic acid cream and mupirocin ointment to apply.
3. Oral medication: If pain occurs during the growth of folliculitis, oral antibiotics such as amoxicillin and cefadroxil can also be taken.
4. Surgical drainage: If the boil is large and the above methods are not effective in controlling it, an incision can be made to drain the abscess, and the medication can be changed after the operation to avoid the formation of a local abscess or vestibular gland abscess.
Patients with the above symptoms in the pubic area should go to the hospital in a timely manner, under the guidance of the doctor for proper treatment, to avoid delaying the condition and causing adverse consequences.
