How to Stop Bleeding from a Tooth Extraction

Usually choose to use cotton roll compression hemostasis after tooth extraction, if bleeding occurs after tooth extraction, feasible suture, cleaning, filling and other targeted treatment, as follows. 1. After completing the examination of the extraction wound and the corresponding treatment, on the surface of the extraction wound, use the sterilized gauze cotton rolls to stand on both sides of the alveolar eminence, and bite the cotton rolls to stop bleeding, which usually takes 30~40 minutes to remove. 2. Bleeding after tooth extraction may be caused by local factors or improper care, the cause should be treated accordingly, such as suturing torn gums, scratching to remove residual granulation tissue, etc. If the bleeding is clearly located in the alveolar fossa, iodoform gauze can be used to stop bleeding by tightly filling the fossa. If the bleeding does not stop after tooth extraction or there is secondary bleeding, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to receive regular treatment.
