Liver cysts basically will not turn into liver cancer, they do not belong to the same category of diseases, patients do not need to worry too much. Liver cyst is a common benign cystic disease of liver, which is usually caused by congenital factors such as abnormal development of intrahepatic bile ducts during embryonic period and acquired factors such as liver worm infection. Most of the liver cysts are benign lesions with slow development, and most of the patients have good prognosis after active treatment. On the other hand, hepatocellular carcinoma is a malignant tumor occurring in hepatocytes or intrahepatic bile duct epithelial tissues, the specific cause of which is still unclear. Clinical considerations are related to hepatitis B virus infection, long-term smoking, alcoholism and other bad habits, but they do not include hepatic cysts. To summarize, there is no association between liver cysts and liver cancer, they only have similar clinical symptoms, but there are obvious differences in both causes and prognosis, so liver cysts basically will not become liver cancer.
