Does horsetail work for eczema

Amaranth may have a positive effect in the treatment of eczema, but it may also aggravate the condition and have the opposite effect. There is a folk remedy of amaranth pounded and applied topically or boiled in water and washed externally on the eczema affected areas, which can be effective in some patients. This is because from the point of view of Chinese medicine, amaranth has the effect of detoxification, anti-inflammatory and diuretic, cooling the blood and stopping bleeding, so for some patients with eczema, their bodies are hot and humid, so this can be effective. But not all eczema patients are damp-heat constitution, for other patients may not be effective. Even, from the western medical point of view, Amaranthus has some photosensitivity, that is, the sensitivity of the organism to ultraviolet light increases after external or oral application. A part of eczema patients are allergic to UV rays themselves, which can aggravate the condition. What’s more, amaranth, as a plant, is also a common allergen, which can easily induce or aggravate the skin disease for some allergic eczema patients, which is more than worth the loss. In conclusion, it is not advisable to use amaranth blindly to treat eczema, but to use it at the discretion of the herbalist after a physical examination, and not for patients with photosensitive dermatitis. If the rash worsens or other discomforts occur after use, stop using it and rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention promptly.
