Normal range of white blood cells

The normal value of white blood cells varies in different age range values, with adult white blood cell counts being (4-10) x 10⁹/L, newborn (15-20) x 10⁹/L, and 6 months to 2 years (11-12) x 10⁹/L.

Leukocytes were categorized into five types: neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes. Neutrophils were categorized into rod and lobulated nuclei, with 0-5% rod nuclei and 50%-70% lobulated nuclei. Eosinophils are 0.5% to 5%, basophils are 0 to 1%, lymphocytes are 20% to 40%, and monocytes are 3% to 8%.

The main physiological function of leukocytes is defense, such as neutrophils can phagocytosis of bacteria and necrotic cells, and can be completely decomposed.

When the test results are abnormal, it is necessary to consult a doctor for further treatment or therapy after the cause is clarified under the doctor’s guidance.
