Symptoms of osteoporosis in the elderly

Symptoms of osteoporosis in the elderly include pain, weakness, spinal deformation and fracture.
1. Pain: Patients often feel pain in the bones of the body, pain and weakness in the lower back, and in severe cases, they have difficulty in turning over, sitting up and walking.
2. Weakness: patients are easily fatigued, aggravated by exertion, and their weight-bearing capacity decreases.
3. Spinal deformity: some patients may have shortened height, hunchback, spinal deformity and limited extension. Some patients have thoracic deformity due to fracture, thus affecting cardiopulmonary function.
4. Fracture: Patients often suffer from fragility fracture due to standing tall or due to other daily activities. Common sites are thoracic vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae, hip, distal ulna, etc. Elderly osteoporosis patients often have recurrent fragility fractures.
If there is any discomfort, it is necessary to improve the relevant examination under the guidance of the doctor to clarify the diagnosis and standardize the treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
