1. Drug therapy: macular edema caused by age-related macular degeneration, for example, can be treated with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor drugs as prescribed by doctors, such as rezumab.
2. Laser therapy: macular degeneration of the fundus can be treated with laser therapy. Laser treatment can destroy the abnormal blood vessels in the retina and achieve the purpose of treating macular degeneration of the fundus. Laser treatment may damage the normal tissues around the eye, resulting in poor vision after the operation.
3. Photodynamic therapy: Photodynamic therapy can be used for fundus macular degeneration. Photodynamic therapy is to inject a specific photosensitizer into the patient’s blood, when the drug circulates to the retina, laser irradiation will stimulate the photosensitizer, destroying the abnormal blood vessels, so as to achieve the purpose of treating fundus macular degeneration, which has less effect on the normal retinal tissue.
4. Surgery: fundus macular degeneration can be treated by surgery, and the more commonly used surgical methods include macular hemorrhage removal, macular transfer, vitrectomy, macular stripping and so on, which need to be combined with the condition to choose the surgical program.
