What is Mucosolvan?

Mucosolvan generic name is Ambroxol Hydrochloride Oral Solution/Tablet/Extended-Release Capsule, is an expectorant medication, clinically indicated to dissolve, dilute and expel phlegm, effectively relieving cough discomfort. Ambroxol hydrochloride can effectively promote the secretion of cell surface active substances and reduce airway hyperresponsiveness. It has a significant inhibitory effect on leukotrienes, histamine and other cytokines, and can also effectively dilute phlegm and play an antioxidant role, used in the expectorant treatment of acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanied by sputum secretion abnormalities and phlegm expectoration dysfunction. Common adverse reactions include rash, nausea, stomach upset, lack of appetite, dyspnea, facial swelling, and fever. It is contraindicated in those who are allergic to Ambroxol Hydrochloride. It should be used with caution in patients with glaucoma, hepatic and renal insufficiency, pregnant and lactating women, and should be avoided to be used concurrently with central cough suppressants (e.g. dextromethorphan, etc.).
