Burping anti-food after eating is associated with gastrointestinal dysfunction, gastroesophageal reflux, and excessive food intake. After eating food the stomach and intestines will be through peristalsis, food and digestive juices will be neutralized, and then discharged into the duodenum. Once the gastrointestinal dysfunction occurs, the human body will experience indigestion, not only the digestion and emptying time of food will be prolonged. There are even some people who have reverse peristalsis, which is when burping and regurgitation of food occur after meals. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is mainly caused by an increase in intestinal pressure. Food reflux is more likely to occur after eating food because of the relaxation of the sphincter muscles of the pylorus and cardia. GERD also causes the stomach lining to contract spasmodically, causing irritation of the diaphragm and hiccups. Try to avoid overeating, as excessive food intake can lead to overexpansion of the stomach and impaired gastric function, thus triggering hiccups and reflux symptoms.
