How large an ovarian cyst can be minimally invasive?

Ovarian cysts less than five centimeters in diameter can undergo minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopic surgery. When an ovarian cyst is less than five centimeters in diameter, laparoscopic surgery can be performed to remove the cyst as prescribed by the doctor. An incision is usually made in the patient’s umbilicus and bilateral lower abdomen, and instruments are passed through the incision into the patient’s abdominal cavity to perform the surgical procedure to remove the ovarian cyst. Minimally invasive surgery causes less damage to the patient’s body and speeds up recovery. However, if the patient has severe pelvic adhesions or if the ovarian cyst is considered malignant, minimally invasive surgery is not recommended and open surgery is required. In comparison, open surgery is more damaging to the body. It is recommended that patients with ovarian cysts consult their doctors and choose the appropriate surgical procedure for their condition. After surgery, patients with ovarian cysts are advised to take good care of the wound area, keep resting and go to the hospital for regular checkups to determine whether the recovery is going well.
