How to treat congenital cataracts in babies

Congenital cataract in babies can be treated through regular follow-up, lens correction and surgery.
1. Regular follow-up: If the congenital cataract of a baby does not have much effect on vision, such as anterior polar cataract, corolla cataract and punctate cataract, it usually does not need special treatment, and can be observed through regular follow-up.
2. Lens correction: If aphakic eyes need refractive correction and visual acuity training to prevent amblyopia and promote the development of fusion function, they can be corrected by wearing eyeglasses.
3. Surgical treatment: baby congenital cataract, generally based on surgical treatment, through the cataract intracapsular extraction, cataract extracapsular extraction, membrane incision and so on.
Babies with congenital cataract, should go to the regular hospital in time, follow the doctor’s advice to take targeted treatment measures.
