Patients who experience sudden heartbeats are considered to have experienced tachycardia or premature beats. Patients are advised to have an electrocardiogram at the onset of symptoms to help clarify whether arrhythmia or myocardial ischemia is occurring at that time. Patients can take oral beta-blockers to improve the discomfort, such as oral betaxolol, or bisoprolol to improve the discomfort, or in combination with heart stabilizing pellets to relieve the symptoms. In addition, the cause of the discomfort should be further investigated, whether it is due to abnormal thyroid function, anemia, or ionic disorders. In addition, heart failure, pulmonary infections, and psychosomatic disorders may also cause such discomfort. Patients are advised to undergo cardiac ultrasound, coronary CT and blood tests if necessary to clarify the diagnosis.
