Pain in the middle of the two breasts in women may be caused by the following: 1. sternitis; 2. intercostal neuralgia; 3. mastopexy nodules. In Chinese medicine, it is called “chest paralysis”, which is caused by the lack of vitality in the chest and the stagnation of Qi in the meridians. It can be treated with acupuncture points: Tanzhong, Neiguan, Zhonggui, and Tiantou. If the pain is accompanied by bitterness in the mouth, irritability, or depression of liver qi, add Tai Chong and He Gu points; if the pain is accompanied by palpitations, sweating, and insomnia, it is due to deficiency of heart yin and loss of nourishment of the heart and mind, add Shen Men, Shao Hai, Bai Hui, and Si Shen Cong points.
