Hydrocephalus is not a hereditary disease, so there is no relationship between hydrocephalus and heredity. Hydrocephalus is caused by too much cerebrospinal fluid secretion and not enough absorption, the imbalance leads to more and more fluid in the brain forming intracranial hypertension, causing a series of lesions that damage the brain nerves. There are several reasons for the formation of hydrocephalus: first, brain infection, due to the increase of inflammatory exudation, so that the brain produces too much cerebrospinal fluid and insufficient absorption, there is an increase in cerebrospinal fluid causing intracranial hypertension and other symptoms. Second, hydrocephalus is caused by poor circulation of cerebrospinal fluid due to cerebrovascular lesions. Third, hydrocephalus can also be caused by trauma and other causes of brain damage, resulting in the formation of cerebrospinal fluid secretion caused by too much. Hydrocephalus may be caused by intracranial lesions, such as brain tumors, which can lead to hydrocephalus.
