Effectiveness of cefixime dispersible tablets in the treatment of urethritis

Cefixime dispersible tablets are used to treat urethritis. If the urethritis is considered to be caused by sensitive bacteria, the treatment effect is relatively good, usually the symptoms will be significantly improved in 1-2 days of medication, and thereafter the medication should be continued for 7-10 days to eradicate the bacteria to avoid recurrence of infection or bacterial resistance. However, if the UTI is considered to be caused by other pathogens such as mycoplasma, chlamydia or fungus, the effect of using cefixime dispersible tablets may be better. Therefore, it is best to first conduct urine examination and culture as well as drug sensitivity test to clarify the type of pathogen of the infection and select a sensitive anti-infective drug for treatment. If it is considered to be caused by mycoplasma or chlamydia infection, azithromycin can be used, while if it is considered to be caused by fungal infection, it may be treated with antifungal drugs.
