The recovery period for craniotomy for meningioma is usually about 2-3 weeks, but it must be treated on a case-by-case basis. The first most dangerous period is the period of cerebral hemorrhage, especially within 3 days after the surgery, which can easily cause another cerebral hemorrhage due to the increase of blood pressure and abnormal blood clotting mechanism. The second most dangerous period is the peak period of brain swelling and cerebral vascular spasm, which is about 7-10 days after the surgery and then decreases slowly. Therefore, after these two most dangerous periods, the majority of patients who undergo craniotomy for meningioma can have a very good recovery and other complications can be largely prevented, but each person’s condition is different and must be judged on a case-by-case basis.
