Cervical erosion, also known as physiologic cervical columnar epithelial ectasia, is a physiologic change that generally does not affect IVF if the cervical cytology results are normal; if the cervical cytology results are abnormal, it may affect IVF.
In general, patients with cervical columnar epithelial ectasia need routine cervical TCT and HPV screening, which can initially diagnose the presence of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.
If the screening result is normal, it means that there is no cervical cancer and precancerous lesions, and no special treatment is needed, and it will not affect the IVF; if the screening result is abnormal, it means that it is a pathologic change, and there is a possibility that there is cervical cancer and precancerous lesions, which may affect the embryo’s implantation, and it may also affect the IVF.
Patients with symptoms of cervical columnar epithelial ectasia are advised to go to a regular hospital for further examination under the guidance of a doctor.
