What should I do if I have a malignant tumor on my kidney?

If the tumor is confined to the kidney and the size of the tumor is less than 4 cm, partial nephrectomy can be considered. However, if the tumor is larger than 4 cm, radical nephrectomy is recommended, that is, removal of the entire kidney on the side of the tumor, including the perinephric fat or the ipsilateral adrenal gland. In case of renal malignancy with distant single metastases, radical nephrectomy with metastases can be performed, but targeted drug therapy is recommended for metastases >2. In principle, renal malignant tumor is not sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, so radiotherapy and chemotherapy will not be used. However, if there is lymph node metastasis or invasion of blood vessel wall after surgery, local radiotherapy or chemotherapy can be considered as appropriate.
