The MRI manifestations of posterior cruciate ligament injury mainly include interruption or partial interruption of ligament continuity, T1 high signal, T2 high signal and so on. In the case of complete posterior cruciate ligament rupture, the MRI shows interruption of ligament continuity, retraction of the residual ligament, and abnormal ligament alignment, in which the T1-weighted image shows high signal, and the T2-weighted image shows irregular diffuse high signal. In the case of incomplete posterior cruciate ligament rupture, the MRI shows partial interruption of ligament continuity, abnormal shape, and fiber disorganization, in which both T1-weighted and T2-weighted images may show high signal changes. If the posterior cruciate ligament is only partially damaged, the MRI shows complete ligament continuity, no course or shape abnormality, but the T1-weighted and T2-weighted images may show signs of increased signal. When posterior cruciate ligament injury occurs, should be under the guidance of the doctor for MRI and other examinations, to clarify the condition for targeted treatment.
