Lung nodules have the potential to develop into lung cancer.
Lung nodules are higher density lesions with a diameter of less than 3cm in the lungs. According to the nature characteristics, they can be categorized into benign nodules and malignant nodules, and some benign nodules may also develop into malignant nodules, i.e. lung cancer.
Benign nodules can be seen in tuberculosis, pneumonia and other diseases, through active anti-infection and anti-tuberculosis treatment, some nodules will gradually subside, and some of them can persist for a long time.
A small number of benign lung nodules, under the stimulation of long-term smoking, infection, inflammatory factors, etc., can become cancerous and turn into early stage lung cancer. And malignant lung nodules themselves are early stage lung cancer or metastatic lung cancer.
Pathological biopsy is the gold standard for determining the benign or malignant nature of lung nodules, and it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
