Pancreatic thickening is described on ultrasound and indicates that the pancreas appears thickened with inhomogeneous density and echogenicity within the pancreas. It is possible that the patient may have a pancreatic occupancy, or it may be associated with pancreatic cancer or insulinoma, etc. Further pancreatic enhancement CT with thin-layer scan, as well as 3D reconstruction is needed for examination, and PET-CT can be done if necessary. If there is a hypodense foci inside the pancreas and the occupancy is hypodense on the enhancement scan, that is, if there is no enhancement, the possibility of pancreatic cancer is very high. If the patient also has Whipple’s triad sign, decreased blood glucose at night, and the symptoms of hypoglycemia are relieved immediately after oral glucose or food, it is considered that it may be insulinoma.
