What are the effects and functions of incense

The efficacy of Shen Xiang is to move qi to relieve pain (by regulating the body’s qi to relieve pain), to warm and stop vomiting (by warming the spleen and stomach to treat vomiting caused by stomach cold), to calm qi and reduce asthma (astringent qi to reduce coughing and wheezing); and to treat chest and abdominal distension and pain caused by stagnation of cold and stagnation of qi.
Sedum is a Chinese medicine with pungent and bitter flavor, slightly warm in nature, and belongs to the spleen, stomach and kidney meridians. It has the efficacy of relieving pain by dredging the liver and moving qi, stopping vomiting by warming the spleen and stomach in the middle jiao, and calming asthma by assisting the kidney to contain lung qi. The main treatment of Shen Xiang is cold condensation of Qi stagnation of the stomach cold vomiting, chest and abdominal distension and pain, kidney deficiency for asthma.
Shenxiang with cloves can enhance the efficacy of subduing rebelliousness and stopping vomiting (stopping the upward flow of stomach qi to stop vomiting), warming the middle and harmonizing the stomach. Shenxiang is also used with Muxiang to regulate qi, strengthen the spleen, move qi and relieve pain.
Shenxiang is pungent, warm and helps to increase heat, so it should be used with caution for people with yin deficiency and fire exuberance, and also for people with qi deficiency and subsidence. Adverse effects are not known.
