Symptoms of apnea syndrome include daytime and nocturnal manifestations. Daytime manifestations include drowsiness, dizziness and fatigue, mental behavioral abnormalities, and headache, while nocturnal manifestations include snoring, apnea, and waking up with suffocation. 1. Daytime manifestations: (1) Drowsiness: it is the most common symptom. (2) Dizziness and fatigue: patients often have different degrees of dizziness, fatigue and weakness. (3) Mental behavioral abnormalities: such as memory loss and lack of concentration. (4) Headache: often in the early morning or at night, hidden pain is common, not intense. (5) Personality changes: such as irritability, agitation, anxiety, etc. Depression may also occur. (6) Hypogonadism: a few patients may have hypogonadism. 2. Nocturnal manifestations: (1) Snoring: snoring is irregular and of different heights. (2) Apnea: 75% of the patients have apnea, and the apnea is mostly with gasping, holding awake or loud snoring and termination. (3) Waking up with suffocation: waking up suddenly during sleep, often accompanied by involuntary movement of limbs and rolling over. (4) Hyperactivity and restlessness: because of the occurrence of hypoxemia, the patient often rolls over and turns during sleep. (5) Excessive sweating: more sweating in the neck and upper chest. (6) Nocturia: some patients urinate more frequently at night. (7) Abnormal sleep behavior: manifested as nocturnal wanderings, hallucinations, murmuring and so on.
