Babies like to tilt their heads may be caused by normal physiological phenomena, muscular strabismus, bony strabismus, ophthalmic strabismus and other reasons.
1. Normal physiological phenomenon: If the baby is within three months of age, without abnormal crying, breastfeeding difficulties and other symptoms, like tilting the head may be a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Myoclonic cervix: usually manifested as abnormal contracture or fibrosis of the neck muscles, limiting the movement of the neck, leading to the phenomenon that babies like to tilt their heads.
3. Bony strabismus: usually caused by congenital malformation of the cervical vertebrae, and may be accompanied by symptoms such as short neck. In severe cases, the neck movement is obviously restricted, resulting in babies preferring to tilt their heads.
4. Ophthalmoplegia: usually caused by congenital paralysis of the eye muscles, with common symptoms such as unilateral or bilateral paralysis of the upper oblique muscles. For babies with no obvious abnormalities in neck muscles and bones, but no improvement in head tilting, attention should be paid to oculomotor paralysis.
There may be many other reasons why babies like to tilt their heads. Parents are advised to take their babies to the doctor in time to find out the cause of the disease and to have relevant treatment.
