There is no way to compare squamous esophageal cancer and adenocarcinoma, whether adenocarcinoma and squamous cancer are serious or not mainly depends on the depth of invasion of squamous cancer and adenocarcinoma as well as the extent of lymph node metastasis. If the depth of invasion is deeper and the extent of lymph node metastasis is more extensive, no matter it is adenocarcinoma or squamous carcinoma, it means the condition is critical or more serious. When squamous esophageal cancer invades into supraclavicular lymph node metastasis or invades into the outer layer of the esophagus, it means esophageal cancer is in advanced stage. On the other hand, adenocarcinoma of the esophagus invades the submucosal layer without lymph node metastasis, which belongs to the situation of early esophageal adenocarcinoma. Therefore, there is no way to compare adenocarcinoma and squamous carcinoma purely from the viewpoint of pathological properties, and it is necessary to combine the depth of invasion and whether it is combined with distant metastasis or lymph node metastasis to make a comprehensive judgment.
