Bortezomib side effects

The side effects of bortezomib mainly involve the digestive system, the blood system, and the nervous system. Bortezomib can cause symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, and blurred vision. Once these symptoms occur, patients should avoid driving or working at heights. Bortezomib can cause damage to liver function, resulting in elevated transaminases, elevated bilirubin, and bile depression. If the skin or whites of the eyes turn yellow and the color of urine darkens during the use of the drug, the liver function should be checked at the hospital immediately. Bortezomib has more gastrointestinal side effects, usually manifested as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, etc. Severe cases may lead to mouth ulcers, dysphagia, gastrointestinal bleeding, taste disorder, loss of appetite, etc. Bortezomib can cause thrombocytopenia, which increases the risk of bleeding. If bleeding symptoms such as black stools, bleeding gums, or skin petechiae occur during the use of the drug, discontinue the drug immediately and visit your local healthcare provider.
