What does calcified liver spots mean?

Hepatic calcific plaques are defined as significant calcium salt deposits in the liver and are generally not a cause for too much concern as they are a common condition. There are many causes of calcium deposits, such as bacterial infections in the liver, traumatic factors or parasitic diseases. It is important to review liver function and abdominal ultrasound or CT regularly, and to pay attention to diet, such as not drinking alcoholic beverages, not eating too oily food, not eating pickled food, etc., which may lead to further increase of calcified spots. Patients can properly consume fresh fruits and green vegetables, and properly consume low-fat high-quality protein, commonly fresh fish and shrimp, leaner beef, etc. Patients should also increase rest and water intake appropriately to help bile excretion and liver recovery.
