The left parietal lobe is in the cranium relative to the top of the head. Near the front is the frontal lobe and near the back are the occipital and temporal lobes. The parietal lobe is the lobe of the brain located between the central sulcus and the parieto-occipital fissure and lateral fissure of the brain. The projection on the surface of the body is usually on the top of the head. Anatomically, each hemisphere of the cerebral cortex is divided into four lobes, which are called the parietal lobe, frontal lobe, occipital lobe, and temporal lobe. The parietal lobe is divided into dorsolateral and medial aspects. The anterior border of the dorsolateral surface is the central sulcus, the inferior border is the posterior branch of the lateral cerebral fissure, and the posterior border is the line from the superior end of the parieto-occipital sulcus to the preoccipital notch. The anterior border of the medial surface is the marginal branch of the cingulate sulcus, the posterior border is the parieto-occipital sulcus, and the inferior border is the subparietal sulcus, which is a continuation of the cingulate sulcus. The function of the parietal lobe is very complex, mainly analyzing and synthesizing various sensory information to distinguish and determine the nature and location of stimuli. If a parietal lobe lesion is suspected, it should be evaluated by a medical professional, as the clinical symptoms caused by parietal lobe lesions are sometimes not specific.
