The current treatment principle for tumors is to remove the tumor as much as possible, including the primary lesion and the lymph nodes in the area. If the tumor is more advanced, radiotherapy or chemotherapy can be used for treatment. For example, malignant thyroid nodes are particularly prone to lymph node metastasis, so when malignant nodes are found, surgery should be performed to remove them, including the bilateral thyroid gland and regional lymph nodes, mainly the central lymph nodes. If there are enlarged lymph nodes in the third, fourth and fifth regions on ultrasound before surgery, the tumor is considered to have metastasized and lateral lymph node dissection is also required.
