Can bronchiectasis coughing up blood be cured

Coughing up blood from bronchiectasis is treatable and may even be cured through surgery. Bronchiectasis with hemoptysis requires, effective treatment to control the bleeding, as most bleeding is caused by infection. Small amounts of hemoptysis may be treated with conservative anti-infective and hemostatic therapy. In the case of massive hemoptysis, urgent treatment is needed because massive hemoptysis can lead to spread of infection in the lungs, hemorrhagic shock, or even asphyxiation, which requires immediate endoscopic hemostasis or vascular interventional angioembolization for rapid hemostatic treatment. For patients with recurrent hemoptysis or hemoptysis, surgery can also be considered to cut out the bleeding lesion and achieve the goal of hemostasis.
