Microcervix means small cervix. Small cervix can be caused by physiological factors such as immature development of the reproductive system, absence of sexual intercourse, absence of pregnancy, and history of labor and delivery, as well as by pathological factors such as performing uterine operations, and congenital developmental abnormalities. 1. Physiological factors (1) Immature development of the reproductive system: small cervix can be manifested when the age or the development of the reproductive system is slow, resulting in immature development. (2) Absence of sexual life: When vaginal infection occurs, pathogenic bacteria can cause cervical inflammation, resulting in cervical hypertrophy. If there is no sexual life, the stimulation of the cervix by inflammation can be greatly avoided, which may be manifested as a small cervix. (3) No history of pregnancy and childbirth: the uterine cavity enlarges during pregnancy, and the cervix enlarges accordingly, and the fetus enters the vagina through the cervix during vaginal delivery, which can cause the cervix to enlarge. Therefore, women with no history of pregnancy or childbirth may have a relatively small cervix. 2. Pathological factors (1) Performing uterine operations: such as hysteroscopy, abortion, cervical conization, etc. Repeated uterine operations may cause damage, resulting in adhesion of the uterus and cervix and shortening of the cervix. (2) Congenital developmental abnormality: some people have congenital uterine developmental abnormality, which will result in small cervix. For serious cases of small cervix, it is recommended to consult a doctor to clarify the cause of the disease and follow the instructions of a professional doctor.
