Vitiligo is more difficult to cure, but can be relieved by medication, surgery or physical therapy.
1. medication: glucocorticoids can be used as prescribed by the doctor to stop the spread of white spots and help restore skin color. Commonly used drugs include fluticasone propionate, betamethasone valerate, hydrocortisone butyrate and so on. However, they should not be applied to the weaker parts of the skin such as the eye area.
Calcium-modulated phosphatase inhibitors, such as tacrolimus ointment and pimecrolimus cream, can be used on the head, face and neck to inhibit skin lesions.
2. Surgical treatment: For patients with stable vitiligo, transplantation treatment can be used. The normal epidermal cells are transplanted to the lesions.
3. Physical therapy: narrow-spectrum medium-wave ultraviolet light (NB-UVB) and 308mm excimer light or laser are suitable for all types (except mucous membrane type) and stages of vitiligo, inducing apoptosis of local T-lymphocytes, which is conducive to the local production of melanin and helps the skin to return to normal. Large area irradiation need to pay attention to the eyes, face and external genitalia protection.
At present, vitiligo is more difficult to achieve the goal of eradication, if the diagnosis of vitiligo has been confirmed, please cooperate with the doctor for treatment to alleviate the clinical symptoms. The above drugs and operations need to be carried out under the guidance of the doctor.
