Why are the nails curved?

There are many causes of curved nails, many of which are caused by spatulate nail, onychomycosis or some chronic skin diseases.
1. Spatulate nail is a condition in which the nail is raised at the edges and sunken in the middle. The formation of spatulate nail is mainly related to the lack of oxygen in the area, and some chronic diseases, such as iron-deficiency anemia and hypothyroidism, can easily lead to spatulate nail.
2. Ringworm is caused by fungal infection of the skin underneath the nail plate, which is a contagious disease that can be spread indirectly through nail clippers and other objects, or it can be caused by the spread of fungus from the hands to the underneath of the nail plate. Nail fungus can lead to nail deformation and hypertrophy.
3. Some chronic diseases such as eczema, lichen planus, psoriasis, etc., which occur on the hands, can lead to nail deformation as the inflammation invades the skin underneath the nail plate and the nail mother.
It is recommended to go to the hospital for a clear cause and targeted treatment.
